![]() They sent me their latest patch last Wednesday night. I have been working with Emotiva for the past two months, trying to get the Mac Mini to successfully switch between inputs after the new HDMI board was installed in the XMC-1. ![]() We will see, and my wife will have a vote. To get demonstrably better sound quality, I'd probably have to spent north of $1500 for a separate DAC. Once I pay for the Nucleus, I will look into a better 2.0 DAC. Both connect to my Emotiva XMC-1 pre/pro. I am playing Multi-Channel through the HDMI output (no video, but that is a small sacrifice, and Chromecast has taken the place of full remote video on my big screen) and 2.0 with the USB output. And after two years, I cannot imagine not having Roon in my life. My Mac Mini, though stripped down, had other things going on. If so, it is likely because the Nucleus is a dedicated music player built to Roon's specs. To those who say it sounds better, I say 'maybe it does'. I easily moved the Roon Core and my library to the new device it was up and running in a very short time.
